Are You Gonna Go My Way
by
Lenny Kravitz
While INCREDIBLY repetitive, it never gets old, and just feels right to play.

I'm not a big fan of Lenny Kravitz, and I usually make that known to everyone, I just couldn't resist this awesome, even timeless, guitar riff. It was totally worth it. Like I said earlier, its repetitive, but its always fun. When the solo kicks in, you realise your two dollars was totally worth it. Its amazingly fun, and just another case of Rock Band having the better chart than Guitar Hero.

Wind Me Up
by
Ghost Hounds
I was a big fan of Ghost Hounds previous effort into the Rhythm Music game field with "Ashes to Fire" which was included with the 20 free songs. I was very pleased with this second entry.

I know it wont sell well because of its $2 price tag for a band you have never heard of, but it probably should. Its a very solid Guitar song. The chart becomes a tad repetitive, and is fairly easy, but its still a fun play.

The Guitar Solo is fun, and a great change of pace for the song (and to be honest, earned it its extra star), not to mention a solid challenge for those just joining the "Expert" ranks. You arent going to fail it, but you might come close.

Its another solid track in what (so far) has been a very average week for DLC.

The Joker
by
Steve Miller Band
One of the few Note-Charts I've preferred on Guitar Hero: World Tour, sadly.

I dont know what it was, this song just didnt wow me the same way it did and still does on Guitar Hero. Maybe its the touch pad for the "wah-wah" parts... Maybe its the fact that the round notes are just harder for me to hit, I dont know, but its just very blah on Rock Band comparatively.

The song plays pretty much the same, and for those who dont know, its just a very simple set of notes, with a couple of simple "wah-wah" solo's.

Its really plain, but its still a great song, and fun to play if you have never played the Guitar Hero version, but its nothing too great.

Space Cowboy
by
Steve Miller Band
Maybe my least favorite of the Steve Miller tracks going in actually turned out to be my favorite of the pack...

While not an incredibly complex song, it has a fun main riff, not to mention its always throwing something new, even if its just a quick alt-strum, at you. The solo was probably one of the easiest I've played in a long time, but that doesnt mean it wasnt fun.

Its still not great to listen to, nor does it give us anything new, but its still a fun song from our good friend Steve Miller.

Typical
by
Mute Math
Let me start off by saying that I am a big Mute Math fan, and even if you dont buy this track, I'd highly recommend you checking out some of their other stuff.

Its a decently fun song from start to finish. Nothing new in the guitar chart. Power-Chords and some alt-strumming. Stays pretty consistent the whole way though. Even though the chart is simple by nature, its still fun to rock out to. Like I said earlier, its a great song to listen to, and that ALWAYS helps a songs playability.

The solo at the end is only some alt-strumming, but anyone who has been with Expert Guitar for at least a month or so will have no problem.

Fun song, maybe my favorite of the week (yeah, not a great week).

Take the Money and Run
by
Steve Miller Band
I cant recommenced this song any less. Its really an injustice to someone as amazing as Steve Miller. I know its not anything Harmonix could have prevented, but the chart for the song is abysmal.

It starts out as an incredibly basic chord-fest, with the occasional difficult chord-change. It continues like this, throwing in an occasional alt-strumming section.

This song is a complete bore, but not even a complete bore that I would play more than once. The chord-changes are basically a combo-raper, and while I'm not the greatest guitarist in the world, I would have to say that getting five-stars on this song aint happening.

Its a complete and utter waste of time and money. Save your dollar and change and just buy the other two Steve Miller songs.

Dammit

Blink-182
Ok, let me warn you by saying that this is in my Top 10 songs of all time, and will probably always be there. Not so much for song quality, but it holds a special place in my heart for sentimental and personal reasons... plus its a fun song. That being said, if you arent obsessed with this song, as I am, take off a star and make this one a three star song.

Ok, so back on topic here... the best part of this song is the riff... and you all know it, most of you grew up in the nineties, or at the very least, you hear this song on your modern rock radio stations in your respective cities. The riff, and the rest of the song for that matter, is incredibly more fun with this version than the version in the recently released Guitar Hero: World Tour.

Its a pretty basic song with tons of strummer, some chord changes, the basic stuff. I only took one star off of my review because of how simple and un-original this song is. Because honestly, I was ready to hop on here and give this one a 5-star perfect awesome rating, but I thought better of it.

In short, you really should own this song, its a classic that you and all your friends know, and lets face it, every song you own shouldnt be Constant Motion-like-difficult... you will probably kill yourself, or your hands will fall off, whichever comes first.

Pretty in Pink
by
The Psychedelic Furs
This song is one of those classics that actually survived the 80's, and is entirely listenable, even without Flock of Seagulls and A-Ha on either side of it. Its a classic song, and is incredibly fun to sing along to, but sadly, its not the worlds greatest guitar song.

Nor is it anywhere close. Its a pretty dull fare. Imagine the most boring guitar song you can... ok, got it? Now put that to the music of Pretty in Pink, and you have the note-chart to Pretty in Pink. It doesnt do anything wrong, and there wasnt a whole lot Harmonix could do with the chart without fucking up the song, but its still a little depressing to play this one, knowing what a letdown it is.

Its still a great song, and if you enjoy the Furs as much as I do, you will buy it anyway, but unless you are a fan of the Furs, the 80's or simplistic note-charts, I cant reccommend this song, period.

Breed

Nirvana
This is truly a great song to play on guitar. Probably the best guitar song to come out this week.

The song starts with one of the more fun riffs in recent memory. The rest of the song pretty much only alternates between this riff and other power-chord switches, but that doesnt make it any less fun. Also, the solo, while simple in nature, is incredibly addictive.

The solo consists of a couple notes, then alt strumming, then a few more notes, then more alt strumming, then a few more notes, and even more alt strumming. Its incredibly simple, but I want to keep playing, and I cant explain why.

This song shouldnt be as fun as it is. Its repetitive, fairly simple (over tier'd, to be sure), and the guitar chart is just average. But its incredibly fun to play, and you want to keep playing this song. This one will be in my created setlists for a good amount of time down the road.

Dr. Feelgood
by
Motley Crue
While this song is a great addition to our Rock Band family, I cant help but feel like its missing something.

The Main Riff is fun, and challenging (as far as main riffs go), but lets face it, challenging main riffs arent the most fun thing in the world after you have played the song a few times... your hands start to hurt, and you yearn for something a little... slower, sadly.

I'm not taking off any points for the riff though, its fun, and probably wont hurt everyones hands as bad as they hurt mine, but I found it to be problematic, all the same.

Also, the solo is pretty damn epic. Its also quite challenging. New-to-Expert players will have quite an issue getting through this one. Its not Afterlife or Green Grass, but its still quite a challenge. The solo is awesome, and easily the best part about playing this song.

Other than the main-riff and the solo, the chorus and fills are pretty much powerchord fests, and thats all good and fine, but it just leaves you wanting more after the song is over.

I cant explain it, but after playing it a few times, and sitting down to write the review... it just doesnt feel like a five-star calibur song to me. Its still great, and should be bought by everybody, but its just... I dont know, missing that special something.

Polly
by
Nirvana
Once again, probably a pretty opposite opinion compared to everyone else, but I liked it, and we need to put an end to all this negativity...

First off, its an acoustic guitar song. I'd pay good money for a whole album of acoustic guitar songs. I love playing the acoustic guitar on Rock Band. Its not something I ONLY want to play, because the epic sound of an electric guitar cant be duplicated. But with about 400 songs of Electric guitar, this song fits VERY nicely with the few other Acoustic guitar songs in the game. Its fun, its a great soung, and a very welcomed change of pace.

Polly, while not perfect, isnt all that terrible, either. Trust me, I dont want to be the one who plays it on drums, but at the same time, its still a perfectly fine guitar song. Its got chord changes, held notes, all your standard Tier 1 fare. Not to mention, its probably one of my three or four favorite Nirvana songs, and that helps a little bit (if Xygni can review a song higher because he likes the song alot, I can too).

Is it a must buy? Only if you are a Nirvana fan, thats really all I have to say about that. Its a solid acoustic guitar song, and it will be great fun to any Nirvana fans out there. Not to mention it, along with Something in the Way, are GREAT alternatives to the rest of this weeks power-chord fests...

Something in the Way
by
Nirvana
Well, this is easily going to be one of the more unpopular opinions of the week, so sue me.

This is easily my favorite second favorite song to play on guitar this week. No, its not incredibly varied, it moves pretty slow, and its not the best Guitar Chart in the world, but that doesnt make it bad. Keep in mind, I love this song so much, I was ready to give it an extra star (up to 4 stars) just for that, but I refrained, and tried to keep this as unbiased as possible.

The guitar SOUNDS like nothing else we really have in the game up to this point. Its a haunting riff that you'd expect to hear in a movie about a haunted house. Its a pretty incredible sound, and it has a great feel to it.

Even someone who just moved up to Expert from Hard shouldnt have any problem with it, but what I did want to point out, is that its a GREAT training song if you are having problems with three-note chords, or transfers between three-note chords, especially three-note chords that are spaced apart (GRB or RYO, for example).

Its not the most varied song of all time, of course not, and its not exactly a thrilling song, but its different, and still remains fun. Also, its not a quick Power-Chord fest, which too much of this Nirvana pack was.

Hands Down

Dashboard Confessional
Now, keep in mind that I grew up loving this song all throughout high school, so that may have influenced my review a little bit, but its a rediculously fun guitar chart regardless.

The song starts out with some simple notes, then it just throws some crazy power-alt-strumming, and that keeps up for most of the song. The main "riff" (if you can call it that), the chorus, the bridge, everything. But, its still incredibly fun, even for a chordgazm.

One of the worst parts about this song is that its incredibly simple to get 96%+ on this song, but I have yet to get Five Stars, much less Gold Stars. This is incredibly irritating, and only takes away from the fun factor a bit, but when choosing a setlist in WT mode... it sucks, because I do second guess myself, saying "I know I'm not going to five star this, thats going to hurt my money/fan intake"... but thats the only real downside to this song. That, and there is no solo, and lets face it, even the easiest solos are still pretty awesome.

If you are a fan of Dashboard, Chordgazms, Emo Music, or Combo Rapers, this is a great song for you, and you should buy it soon, but for others, you may want to double check that note chart before you commit to buying this one, especially if you know you arent a big fan of the song.

Time for Change
by
Motley Crue
Let me start off by saying that I am not a huge fan of Hair Metal. It fun, but most of it is the same crap over and over again. This is by all means a great Hair Metal Anthem, however. Its pretty spectacular.

The main parts of the song, the intro, the main riff, the chorus, they are all pretty damn simple for even the most inexperienced Expert players. That doesnt mean they arent any fun though. Recently, on some of the more simple songs, I really like to get into it, and just go crazy with arm motions, headbanging and other crazy guitar moves. This is the perfect song for this.

The song really gets great when the solos hit. The first one is pretty straight forward and simple, you will probably miss the end though. The song keeps going for a little bit, they throw in some crazy HOsPOs... its pretty great, the Anthem keeps going, and then the song closes on the incredible second solo. Its not too hard, it wont make most Expert players fail (there are parts that could get the inexperienced flustered, but nothing more than that), but it keeps you on your toes. Its incredibly fun, and its a great way to close out your Rock Band setlist, when your hands start to burn from the insane fretwork you have been doing.

All-in-All, its worth every penny of the two dollars for expert guitarists. I know that I'm telling all of my friends to pick up this song, because its incredibly fun, and I want to play it as much as possible. You should pick it up, then encourage all your friends to do the same.

Livin' on the Corner of Dude and Catastrophe
by
MC Frontalot
As a song, its interesting, its one of a kind, but its really nothing that I was telling myself "aw man... this NEEDS to be on my iPod."

This guitar chart is just awful. Simply awful.

ALL it does is alternate between repetitive alt-strumming, and boring held-notes. Its not like the alt-strumming is even fun alt-strumming. Its the kind of alt-strumming where your timing will almost always be off, and you will never quite get the hang of it. But that is mostly because once you realize how AWFUL it is, you will never play this song again. I mean... this is downright awful.

Thats really all the song has going for it. I wish it had other intricacies I could go in to for full detail (and hateful pummeling), but thats all it is. The worst alt-strumming parts in any song, ever. Oh, and some boring held notes.

Overall, this is the worst song of the week. Between this and SHH..., its really rivaling the week we got We Care A Lot and Calling Dr. Love as the worst week ever. Thankfully Jonathan Coulton came in and saved the day. This song, you really shouldnt buy, even if you were GIVEN a dollar to download it. Its really that bad. I, personally, am NEVER playing it on guitar again. I dont care that my score was bad, I dont care that I didnt FC an "easier" song. I dont care. This song is awful, and shouldnt be played by anyone EVER on guitar.

Skullcrusher Mountain

As a song on its own, I enjoyed this one A LOT. Its nothing that is going to WOW anyone, but for fans of soft rock, or even adult alternative... or any of that soft/easy listening crap, at least a little, you will enjoy this song, I promise you.

As far as the opening and main riffs go, its pretty straight-forward. Its a strumfest with a little bit of repetitiveness thrown in for good measure, but that doesnt make it any less fun. If you enjoy things like Closer To the Heart or the solo in Reptilia, this is going to be right up your ally.

The best part of the song, in my opinion, is the awesome soft country twang sound that the guitar gets during the chorus. I'm not gonna lie, its pretty damn amazing. It doesnt sound like ANYTHING else we have in the game up to this point. Its almost got that Johnny Cash twang to it, and I love playing it.

Other than the strumfest of a main riff, and the amazing twang to the chorus, the song really doesnt do anything different from there, which is a shame. If there was any kind of solo with a few HOPOs... It'd be a five star song, easy. But as it is, its a little to repetitive, and doesnt have enough going on to warrant the extra star.

Overall, its BY FAR the best song of the week for guitarists. The only problem with that is, though, that it doesnt sound like the Bassists or Drummers will have too much fun with this one, I havent played them for the experience, but from the sound of the song, it doesnt sound like it gives them too much love.

This one is for sure going into my semi-regular rotation, but it will always just be a warmup song. Its a shame it couldnt have a Cliffs of Dover like solo, or anything, that would have made this one a FANTASTIC guitar song. As it stands now, its still REALLY good, and the only song this week actually worth a dollar. Go buy it, now.

Darkest of the Hillside Thickets
Now, let me start out by saying that this song, as just a song alone, it pretty damn average. Its got an interesting sound, but all in all, its nothing to right home about.

This song is pretty much just a series of powerchords, or chordgasm, as its now known. Some of the alternations between the powerchords is kind of fun (one riff in particular, and the repetition of that riff at the end of the song). However, most of it is your standard YO to GY to RB riffs, and they really arent that difficult, but its incredibly easy to lose your beat, with how many power chords it really throws at you.

Then after the boring and mundane chordgasm, you get the easiest and most boring (and least helpful) solo of all time. It just a series of held notes, that wont challenge even the noobiest of players. Then, after the solo, you get another long series of chords.

The song ends with the best alternations of chords the song has... and it almost gives an epic feel to the end of what was otherwise, a pretty boring ride.

I honestly thought through the whole song that "this is getting one star on RBDLC". The solo REALLY didnt help matters, but that fun little riff at the end, it got the song the extra star.

This song is never going to be in my regular rotation as far as guitar goes, but I do look forward to playing it again, so I can possible FC and Goldstar this one, and just to play that fun riff at the end of the song. Its nothing amazingly fun that is worth the dollar, but if you already have the song, at least that part of the song redeems the fact that the song was, overall, pretty damn bad.

She Does
by
Locksley
This is simply an amazing song. All note-chart structuring aside, this is an awesome song. I might go buy a Locksley album, based on this song alone. Its very reminiscent of The Beatles, but if they had an Alt-Rock edge to them. Its a great sound.

As far as the song, note-chart wise, goes. Its pretty standard fare. It opens with some great sounding held notes, but nothing special. Then you get some quick strumming, throw in some power-chords and a bit of Alt-Strumming, and you have pretty good Main Riff to this song.

The Solo is actually incredibly tricky, not mind-bustingly hard, but tricky. Its a weird series of power-chords and pull-offs. Its weird, but its fun, and will be a good challenge to try and master.

The only downfall of this song, which seems to be a sad-trend in the Locksley songs, is that its far too short. I want the songs to go on longer than they do, and as quickly as the other two songs end, this one seems to be about half that. Its pretty sad really. You just get going with the song, and it seems like it just ends. That, combined with the fact that the guitar chart, for the most part, is pretty much standard fare that we have seen before a billion times, is the reason I'm dropping this one a star.

Just because its four stars doesnt mean you shouldnt buy it though. Its a GREAT song for a buck. I mean, one dollar for this song is almost robbery, but hey... they took Moving Pictures, so I dont feel as bad. This is really worth it to pick up for solo play, and for band play. Teach your friends the way of Locksley, have them learn, and you will all have a triumphantly good time.

Don't Make Me Wait
by
Locksley
Let me start by saying HOLY CRAP. That song was... wow. Anyway. Lets dive into this review, shall we?

The song itself is the best of the pack. Its the most catchy, and for all intents and purposes, is the best song of the pack.

On to the Guitar Chart. Ok. This was INSANELY fun. Its new. Thats the important one. I honestly cant recall another Guitar Chart that played like this one. Its got a funky main riff of these quick little riffs you play. Then, in the chorus, you get these incredibly challenging riffs that throw in power chords, not to mention an insanely fun HOPO section.

Then, I'm thinking the song is just going to repeat that formula, thats where I was very wrong. It goes into another, fun, main riff, and that evolves into that same fun chorus verse.

All the while, the main bridge of the song, its some great alt strumming. It takes a lot to be "Great" alt-strumming, this actually is "Great" alt-strumming.

You play the chorus one more time (One more time for the HOPOS! WOO!), then the outro is this increibly fun Power Chord Alt-Strum. Then the song is over, and it leaves you wanting more.

This is easily the most original song I've played in weeks. Not only that, its an incredibly catchy alt-rock-pop tune. The Chart is INCREDIBLY fun, not to mention incredibly challenging. I got 3 stars (almost 4) on my sightread. I cannot wait to try to master this song. Along the way, its really going to help me develop some new skills. This is a GREAT song, and if you are still saddened by the recent loss of Moving Pictures, this is a GREAT band-aid. Honestly, it is worth every penny of that dollar. Go buy this NOW. If you are a guitarist, and you dont have this song, you are doing yourself a disservice.

All Over Again
by
Locksley
Ok, well, let me tell you this. If the only reason you are NOT buying this song is because you dont think you will like the music style. Ask yourself. Do I like The Beatles? Do I like Alt Rock? If you said yes to either or both of those questions, like MOST of us should, then you will like this music. It sounds like The Beatles done Alt Rock.

The Guitar has that nice 60's pop-music twang to it, and its really a great sound.

On to the actual playability. The song starts out with some power chords, they move around. They will hit you will some quick Alt strumming, but nothing too serious, three quick taps of the strum bar is all. This trend continues for most of the song. If you arent a fan of Power Chords or "Chordgasm" type songs, you may want to steer clear. The main riffs of the song are fun enough to play. Nothing new, but still a fun change of pace nonetheless.

On to the solo, which really sounds good, but plays just about exactly the same as the Main Riff, only instead of power chords, you are just quick strumming one fret button at a time. It sounds cool, but isnt that fun to play.

Its a little tricky the first time you play it, but once you get the hang of the strange Power Chord transfers and the odd end of the solo, it should be a very attainable Gold Star.

All-in-All, its a good song, very catchy. Its not going to be great at parties, because I'm pretty sure no one I know of knows anything about Locksley, but its still a fun song nonetheless. The Guitar Chart doesnt introduce anything new, but it doesnt screw up anything either, it just felt like it left a little to be desired.

Sleepwalker
by
Megadeth
Ok, let me start off by saying I do really like this song, and its about time we get some Megadeth on Rock Band. But, I dont know that Sleepwalker was their best choice. Much less a decent 5th or 6th choice. If this had come in a Megadeth pack with 1 or 2 better songs, I would have been a tad more forgiving, but as our FIRST Megadeth song? Its a little weak.

On to the song. The main riff is incredibly difficult. Its a series of quick notes, followed by a fun little set of Hos and Pos. This is repeated. And Repeated. OH, then it moves over to the Red Fret being the dominate fret... and repeats... and repeats.

I think you get my drift, the main riff, while incredibly challenging, and a bit fun, its far too repetitive. Its very similar to Snow, if Snow was actually a HO/PO, and was remotely fun. Then the first solo hits, and you feel like its a little easier than the rest of the song, and thats because it is. It was weird, almost failing a couple times of the challenging (but repetitive) main riff, and then breezing through the solo.

Then you get back into the main riff, it moves around a bit, they throw in some alt strumming. There is a challenging second solo, but its nothing a little overdrive cant help. Its tough, but its nothing compared Constant Motion or Aesthetics of Hate.

Then, you play the song a little longer, it goes on and on, seeming like forever, very similar to ...And Justice For All.

All and All, its a decent song, but nothing even close to the best of Megadeth, and then its a repetitivly challenging song, with little more redeeming qualitys, other than it actually being a Megadeth song in Rock Band. I really wish I could have given this song a better review, I do, but I just cant, given that I didnt have that much fun with it.

Constant Motion
by
Dream Theater
Ok, here is what I like about this song, let me lead off with that, I think I will get less hate mail and buring dog turds thrown at my house this way.

Its a pretty good song, as far as Metal since 1990 goes. Its not going to wow many people as far as a genre-bending classic, but its a good metal song, and really good when you compare it to other crap coming out these days.

Next, the Note Chart, excluding the solo, is actually kinda fun. Its incredibly challenging but still do-able. Nothing too insane here (Its not Snow or Thrasher, but its up there).

My biggest complaint with this song, is the wall of notes that it thrown at you for no good reason in the Solo. If you want to know what its like, its very similar to Ride The Lightening, on Steroids. Not the sissy, HGH-type steriods. I'm talking hardcore, anabolic, Barry Bonds and Marion Jones having kids Steroids. Its probably the "Hardest" solo in the game to this point. Its nothing like Jordan or Through the Fire and the Flames, but its up there.

My biggest problem with a solo like this, is that for 99.8% of Expert Guitarists out there, beating this song is pretty much a crapshoot. Between Luck, knowing your OD, and some Skill, you will beat this song. Otherwise, its going to be a slap in the face, and then it has sex with your mother.

At least with songs like Afterlife and Green Grass and High Tides, those solos are incredibly hard, but also very attainable. You know with the right mix of practice and honing your skills, you could even 95+% those solos. With Constant Motion, its just so incredibly hard, that you know, the only time I'm going to beat this is when I get INCREDIBLY lucky, and thats also going to be the LAST time I play this song.

Sadly, once this one got beat, I KNEW that would be the last time I play this song. So, if you love impossible songs, or want to pay 2 bucks to beat a song once, buy this, otherwise, steer clear my friends.

The Janitors
Ok, hear me out on this one. Its actually a pretty catchy tune. Yeah, its nothing more than a Jonas Brothers-wannabe band, and a song from a movie fueled by the producers of the nightmare inducing High School Musical, but its a decently fun song. Its nothing thats going to make my top 10 list of the year, or even the week, but its still a fun pop song.

So now, we have the base of a moderatley fun pop song, that you will be embarassed to play, but you wont care. Even though the note chart is incredibly easy, and this might as well come with the Gold Stars with the download, its still an incredibly catchy song, a fun beat and simple chart.

That is, however, why this loses a couple stars. Its almost TOO easy. I felt like this was almost a little Undercharted, or it was just another case of Harmonix doing the best they could with the source material. Dont get me wrong, its still fun, and could work GREAT as a warmup song, or something to get your little siblings attracted to this game (either for the first time, or to bring them back in), but as a solo song for guitarists, its really just an easy gold star, nothing more, nothing less. Its worth a dollar, and if you have an extra buck (or 80 points) lying around, and you want some dumb Rock Band fun, its worth it.

Think of it as the Rock Band equivalent of putting fifty cents in a light gun game at the arcade. Is it the best video game experience you've ever had? No. But its really fun for what it is.

Aesthetics of Hate

Ok, here is why this song is terrible. First off, its a downright crappy song, but that really isnt the worst part, or the deciding factor in giving this one 1 star.

The Song starts out kinda fun, some soft guitar notes. But then you hit the strumming/picking section. Very similar to Beethovens C*** or the solo in Reptilia, except MUCH faster, and no where near as fun.

Now, problems with that, and hand cramps aside, it doenst get REALLY bad until the solo. While the rest of the Roadrunner pack had some decent solos, even Constant Motion, but this was just a disgrace. The solo was ZERO fun, not to mention, it throws you off, because you strum MUCH slower here than you do in the rest of the song, so untill you get your timing down, you will suck, hard.

So, between the Craptacular solo, the annoying strumming throughout the main riffs of this song, and the fact that I really dont care for the song, or the band, at all, all contributed to this song getting ONE Star. Dont get me wrong, if you love to play stupidly hard songs, and enjoy the bullshit note charts from Guitar Hero 3, then you will moderatley enjoy this song, but otherwise, there is NOTHING for ANYONE to enjoy with this one. Just pass on this, and save your money for the sure-fire-hits we are sure to get around the Rock Band 2 release.

Young Man Blues (Live at Leeds)

This song is tons of fun, and this one adds a nice bluesy feel to the game, another genre of rock that this game was missing, and will be played over and over again at my Rock Band parties, but I'm not so sure I'm going to be looking for this one once I get another great pack, or Rock Band 2, whichever comes first. Dont get me wrong, its still tons of fun solo, but it also lacks the feeling of band togetherness, which this song provides a TON of, which is another part of the Bluesy feel that makes it so unique. This is a must buy for bands, but solos players should check out the chart first.

So, it started off promising, a pretty fun riff. Then you realize, that riff is the only good thing you play, and its the only thing you play for 80% of the song. Not only that, long pauses where it SOUNDS like you SHOULD be playing, but you arent, haunt this song. When I started, I thought it had the potential to be the best of the second NIN Pack, it ended up being tied with Burn for most boring. If you are a NIN fan, this song is great, and you should buy it just to have it, but otherwise, steer clear, my friends.

Ok, this was probably one of my favorites from Stadium Arcadium as it was, when it came to Rock Band, I was very excited. Yes, its a moderatley boring guitar chart, and it really offers no sense of difficulty (especially when compared to its counterpart "Snow((Hey Oh))"), but its still a great song, and the note chart IS true to the song. I know this one will keep sneaking into my regular setlist, and I will enjoy playing this one, but mostly because of its merits as a great song.

I really cant give this one the same glowing review I gave the drum chart. But once again, Harmonix did what they could. I think we all saw this one being the dud of the album before it even came out. The only reason you should have this song (if you dont need the Flawless Drumming achievement) is because it was pretty much free with the rest of Doolittle.

Who's Going Home With You Tonight

Trapt
Ok, I will say this about the song... I actually did have tons of fun at about the 3/4ths mark, but only for about 30 seconds.

This is just a plain, outright, terrible chart. The song is not that great either. I know Trapt has their (12) fans, but its just not for me. Yes, I'll admit, Headstrong is on my iPod, but I really dont care for their music as a whole, and this is no different.

It starts out with irritating quick-strumming sections. Strike One.

It then continues to be the most boring chart of the week. Strike Two.

No solo, this song was hurting for a solo, really bad, and we never got one. Strike Three.

This song is out... and you shouldn't waste your time or money on this one. Heres a list of things you could buy with that dollar that you will enjoy more than this song: A Jumbo Jack, a lottery ticket, 4 frozen burritos, a bus ticket, a four pack of McNuggets, another (fun) dollar rock band song you havent bought yet. Or, feel free to send it to me.

Promised Land

Ok, if you are only stopping to consider downloading this one because you wonder if you will like the sound? Just... go download this. Think of it as Guns N Roses meets (old) Motley Crue meets Spinal Tap.

This songs guitar chart seems like its going to be a bore, and it starts out not so hot. But you keep playing, because the song is awesome.

Then, it hits you. The greatest solo a free song could ever have to offer. Its cascades at its finest. The solo was so much fun to play, I had to actually go back and play this song again before I moved on to the other tracks that came out this week.

Another plus, the nice, long, Big Rock Ending at the end, for the solo guitarist, this will make up some of the points you missed out on during that wicked solo.

This is the best free DLC that has EVER come out for ANYTHING. This honestly is worth every one of the 31mb's it takes up of your hard drive. Go download this NOW.

Motley Crue
Ok, so the songs main riff and chorus are pretty repetitive, and it isnt really the greatest song in the world, but, it could be worse. As for the positives, well, the main riff, while repetitive, is fun, and as a whole, the song doesnt suffer too much from being so repetitive.

The Solo is a good mix of just about everything. Alt. Strumming, Quick Strumming, Ho's and Po's, Cascades. Still nothing too challenging, even for the most mediocre of Expert players.

Its not going to make even the most tired of expert players break a sweat, and this will probably be gold starred within the first hour of being out, maybe even a couple sightreads, but its still worth your dollar.

Its pretty damn average. I wouldnt recommended it if you are picking and choosing songs off the album, but it wont be awful to play if you are just buying the whole album. Some tricky alt. strumming and a weird solo keep this one moderately entertaining.

Its a pretty good song, but what I really think its good for is a good training tool for players moving up from med-hard or hard-expert. Its got plenty of different styles of play, from cascades, to quick ho's and po's, to really quick strumming. Its not hard by any means, and most serious guitar players will just have an ok time with it, but players looking to move up should use this song as practice.

AMAZING song. Just a blast to play. This is an experience not to be missed. Not to mention the second and third solos are a good challenge, and a good way to prep your fingers for Green Grass and High Tides if you havent made it through the second solo of that song yet. Simply put, buy this song, you will not be dissapointed.

AMAZING. This was actually my least favorite of the three Disturbed songs going it, but it comes out at my favorite. Not a dull moment to be had here, a short but challenging solo leads into some great finger-picking that rivals Hysteria's Bass Track. FUN FUN Song, if you only get one song from the week of 6/3, make it this one if you are a solo guitarist.

Just a flat out fun song. VERY heavy on the Power Chords, but still very fun nonetheless. I cant wait to Gold Star this song, its a tad on the easy side, but still a great warmup song. This is a must buy for both solo and parties.

Wow, if it weren't for Muse this week, this would hands down be the best song of the pack. Its a GREAT song, with a simple but addicting note chart. Its relatively easy, but this is just another example of a easier song being incredibly fun (last weeks Train In Vain is another example of this).
