Completely mixed week here. I love Weezer and really dig their new album, but Beverly Hills is right up there with people who send Message 2 All Friends letters for every small Halo/Uncharted 2 accomplishment they get on the level of things that make me stabby. Similarly, The Yellowcard track is long overdue and will be fantastic on drums, but it’s coming with… Limp Bizkit. Granted, I haven’t actually listened to the track yet and am already glad that it isn’t the awful Behind Blue Eyes cover, but it’s… Limp Bizkit. The band that proudly made music for guys that popped the collars of their polos, frosted the tips of their hair, or wore their baseball caps backwards for the better parts of 1997-2001. Wes Borland is a good guitarist, but I’d be happy not ever hearing another song by the band for rest of my life. As for the Offspring track, I hadn’t heard it until today despite being a fan, but I really like it.

Odd week indeed.

Also, I’m getting this out of the way before people start spamming the comments with it- where is Pantera? There, now we can focus on what is here.

WiiLC Week of 6/23- Holy huge back catalog update! (updated)

Edit: looks like the original listing was revised, which means Wii owners have less to look forward to than we thought.

That’s right- Wii owners have over 30 15 new tracks to play this week. So, Happy Father’s Day!

Man… hope some of you have kids that chipped in a points card or two ;) Also, interesting to see that Wii owners get a crack at the Pearl Jam live tracks as proper DLC before 360/PS3 owners do. As somebody who shelled out for the deluxe edition of Ten in part just to play those three, trust me when I say that each is worth your hard-earned money no matter what you play. After that, I’d say drummers need the Mission of Burma and Dead Kennedys packs in addition to Burn, Space Truckin’, and Hands Down. It’s been a while since I’ve played any other instrument (people seem to be afraid of the damn thing at parties >_>), but I’d check the main page or xHoly Div3rX’s recommendations in the comments section for the other instruments.
