One of my all-time favorite albums comes to Rock Band soon. The many adolescent hours I spent studying its drum parts have finally paid off.
…Sorry, it’s not announced yet, so I can’t say. But trust me, you probably won’t share my excitement anyway.

Additionally, Abomstar over at ScoreHero tracked down the guy’s last.fm playlist, which may give us a few clues. Here’s a list of his top 15 artists:
Misfits
Low
The Magnetic Fields
Thin Lizzy
Deerhoof
Andrew W.K.
Slayer
Bad Religion
Tortoise
Faith No More
Broadcast
Afghan Whigs
TV on the Radio
The Futureheads
Shudder to Think
Hm… the guy is 33, which puts his adolescence around the late 80s and early to mid 90s. His line about drumming leads me to think it’s something relatively tough, so out of this list I’ll shoot for Reign in Blood by Slayer or (though this is a bit out on a limb) Cowboys from Hell by Pantera. I could also see Black Love by the Afghan Whigs, Misfits by the Misfits, Against the Grain by Bad Religion, or an album that has nothing to do with those at all.
So, yeah, that’s all we’ve got so far, which isn’t much. Speculate away!

The question, I think, is whether he was being sarcastic with the ‘you won’t share my excitement.’
Angel of Death coming to Rock Band? Joy!
Haha, he was pointing that out to someone he knows. So we cannot rule anything out unless we know that person’s musical tastes… think a bit.
It’s Master of Puppets. obviously.
@sean
in a beautiful dream world
Well, for what I can read from all the comments… there is a high chance we might get MOAR METAL!!! F*CK YES!!
@Ozark
I agree, more full albums is a good thing.
Well, my dream would would say the album is 2112. That would fit the tough drumming criteria, then again the album is about his age, so maybe not.
Soundgarden, it has to be soundgarden
I would say bad religion, from the time frame
There is no time frame.
Honestly I would love to see Thin Lizzy’s “Jailbreak” as a full album download. But seeing as we have live versions of three of the songs off that album, It’s probably unlikely.
I say we have their best songs already.
I say you’re wrong.
Holy crap, if Reign in Blood is the album I will throw out whatever the price tag is to get the whole thing. “Raining Blood” has to be one of my three most wanted songs. The lyrical content will be insanely controversial and I’d be interested to see what parts they take out.
@sean
I’d rather have Audioslave
Truth.
Holy crap! If it’s Slayer, I’ll seriously crap myself right now and stop complaining about the quality of DLC. I’m totally excited just at the notion that there’s even the slightest chance that Reign in Blood would make it into RB.
I keep crossing my fingers for Megadeth’s Rust in Peace too. The band is celebrating RIP’s 20th anniversaryby going on tour and playing the album in it’s entirety. DLC would be a perfect cross-promotion.
Does anyone else think it would be hilarious if he was talking about Low? Since.. errrr.. they only use a ride cymbal and a snare drum (at least on their earlier albums)..
The comment about us probably not sharing his excitement scares me a bit. I think those comments pretty much rules out Slayer and Pantera. Maybe he is referring to Green Jelly – Cereal Killer. “Little pig, little pig let me in!”. Ok, maybe not.
You can’t rule out bigger bands because of the “excitement” comment; if anything, it simply suggests that he’s a huge fan (as if the drumming thing didn’t say that already). Besides, do you really think Harmonix would release a full album of DLC if they didn’t think the sales would be worth it?
I want The Runners Four by Deerhoof. RBN or DLC, I don’t care which. And much more Slayer.
Slayer would be awesome.
so… am i the only one here who saw TV on the Radio and got excited? It may be an indie band, but they’re REALLY good. Something to think about to all the indie haters.
Yes they would. Someone might offer them an album to use for free or for little cash. Very plausible.
(wipes away drool) Having FNM’s The Real Thing would be the best thing to ever appear as DLC… ever (personal favourite of mine
), and omg, FNM, such an influential band, such an important part of rock history, it’s hard to believe we’ve actually gone this long without anything from them, it’s never to late too make up for this, Harmonix!
Oh, and this: http://www.answers.com/topic/mike-bordin
I WAS RIGHT! *does a dance*
Is Rust in Peace the album this developer was referring to or is his album still to be announced? Can we get some confirmation either way on this?
