From Brad, the band’s drummer-
Just blasted out 6 of the old hits for Rock Band. Flying back to LA for Year Long Disaster pre production. Should sleep well tonight.4:05 PM Aug 1st from UberTwitter
Now in SF recording songs for Rock Band video game.4:38 PM Jul 31st from UberTwitter
A friend of a friend of the drummer on the message boards (in other words, this is probably pure speculation) said that these tracks were the re-records:
Semi-Charmed life
Jumper
Never Let You Go
Losing a Whole Year
Graduate
Motorcyle Drive by
Honestly, as long as Semi-Charmed Life makes it into the game, I’ll never stop playing RB again. Seriously, when this song hit back in ‘97 while I was in seventh grade (yep, I’m probably a bit older than most of you), it was the first CD single that I bought. To this day (I just tried), I can recite the words to over half the songs on the band’s first CD, so to say that I’m excited would be a huge understatement.
-Kyle A.

Sixth grade? LOL, I got married in 1997.
Not a fan, but kudos to anybody who is.
@Aggrazel
Haha ok, maybe I was a bit hasty with that. Also, I meant to write seventh grade.
love the first cd and pretty much every song on it, this has me pumped to dust off rock band and jam out
Yeah agreed, you’re pretty young Kyle A., I was a HS freshman in 1997.
Anyways, I’ve always loved Jumper. Semi-Charmed was really overplayed, but the other tracks look pretty good.
Semi-Charmed Life, Jumper, and Losing a Whole Year are all almost guaranteed to be in. The other three make sense, but we’ll see when Harmonix makes it official.
Either way, I’m excited for this. :¬)
I think you underestimate Rock Band’s primary age group.
@Kamposhj
I really hope that I am, because if so this pack is going to sell like crazy.
Great news. And I graduated HS in 1997, but didn’t listen to the album heavily until fall in college when it was our usual soundtrack when we were out way too late most nights.
I’m a fan so I’m excited.
I was 3 years old in ‘97. And I love these songs.
doo doo doo, doo duh doo doo…
yeah, semi-charmed kinda life is gonna be great for parties. nothin’ like a sunny tune about cheap sex and meth addiction.
and as a side note, the one thing I hope RBN helps usher in is cutting through the filler and getting bands to just up and release their hit tunes. Although I know it isn’t harmonix’s fault really, that’s been my biggest frustration throughout the year…years? (!)
Graduated in 95…Great band to put in RB…Just where is Hows it going to be. The wifey loves singing those types of songs.
I was 6 soo…maybe I’m not feelin’ the nostalgia.
I know a lot of people who will be happy to hear this though.
Also, just out of random, where the hell are the albums at? Harmonix? Hello! I was totally digging the last few and now it’s just these huge mega-packs. It’s not the same. RBN had better satisfy my album crave. I know Anarchy Club has a lot of DLC planned. Oh my god if The Way and It’s Power is released. Okay getting off-topic.
Should be a good set, Motorcycle Drive By should been a fun one to play,
@Xzyliac
I think Spinal Tap is counted as an album despite having a large section released in June, but I’ve seen rumors on the RB forums that it was originally meant to be our July album. We know about Pearl Jam next month, but I’m hoping they just ignore convention and throw another Dr. Feelgood-esque album at us out of nowhere.

I’m personally hoping for either a Rush 18-pack, the full 2112 album, or Snakes & Arrows.
Would be Epic.
sweet i like these songs brings back memories. But just like twommybilz said u definitely got to put in (Hows it gonna be).
oh good call on the How’s It Gonna Be?. I knew there was a song missing from the list.
I was 8 in in 1997 and wasn’t an immediate fan. I think about five or six years ago a friend gave me a copy of their first CD and I loved, so then I became a fan after also liking their 2nd and 3rd CDs as well. If these are indeed the choices for the Third Eye Blind pack, I’m stoked! Maybe Blinded, Crystal Baller, or London will show up later *crosses fingers*
There cannot be a more insignificant addition to Rock Band DLC. I just opens up the can of worms that includes the embarassment of Matchbox 20, Creed, Our Lady Peace, Fastball, and all the other alt-pop garbage that came in the wake of grunge. This is truly horrible news.
fun party songs! woohoo!
Funny to see all the “older” people coming out of the woodwork. I’m 32 and for a while thought I was the only person over 25 to frequent RBDLC. I still think the overall Rock Band demographic is closer to my age than the overall demographic of people who write chart reviews here.
Anyway, I was never a huge fan of TEB (just a little too pop for me)…but I think they’re a decent addition to RB. I heard “Jumper” recently on the radio and thought it would make a pretty fun RB chart, particularly the instrumental breakdown. And of course this will be fun party music.
@RD1138
Dude, the sky is not falling. I’m with you on the horrible alt-pop filler of the last decade, but honestly, with RBN coming along and already approaching 1000 RB songs available, nothing that resembles rock music is safe from the DLC library. If you don’t like it, don’t buy it…but Harmonix has proven reliable in terms of overall DLC variety. I don’t think this is opening up any horrible can of worms…
@Sean
We need a classic rock album. Maybe a good live classic rock album like Framptom or a band we’ve gotten nothing of like some Stones. Or maybe to combat GH5 they could drop a huge bomb like The Doors or Black Sabbath. I would so shell out ANYTHING for any Doors album with Morrison or any Sabbath Vol. 4 and earlier.
What the hell ever happened to Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours? Last I checked (early summer) it was like a sure thing. Then again a lot of us thought the same about London Calling last year. Harmonix is a tease. :/
i was born in 73. had my first kid in 97. great addition to the dlc. p.s. more canandian content please
@Xzyliac
I think that a good classic rock album would be excellent. Perhaps Dark Side of the Moon, 2112, any LZ album. I can think of a lot of others too. As for Doors or Stones, or even Sabbath, I think I’d prefer some best-of compilations.
Overall though, I think the range of albums released so far is actually pretty good. It’s really covered a broad range of eras and genres.
When I first saw this I was hoping to see ‘Slow Motion’ on the list as it’s the only TEB song I know. Just listened to the others though… ‘Semi-Charmed Life’ is pretty good & I realised I know ‘Jumper’ from the film ‘Yes Man’. Not terribly bothered about the other songs however, but overall I think this will be a good pack =]
just to keep in conservation with the age thing, Im a regular RBDLC user and i am 15
this doesn’t make my views any less valid however just so no one starts thinking that.
this is the best news eva, my fav band of all time. Finally, definately wud pick these up.
@andy F
I don’t think we were implying that. I brought it up just because you associate certain periods of your life with songs that got played constantly like Semi-Charmed, Jumper, and How’s it Gonna Be? were back in the day, especially in the days before internet radio and piracy when radio had a much bigger presence. I assumed that many of the people who commented and wrote for the site were in the 13-24 demographic just because it’s statistically the biggest group that plays video games.
its great to see so many of all ages commenting on this. I’m 32, and never was a huge 3EB fan, but….
this is one of those packs that i can see getting and having for some party situation. Rockband is pretty much a big party thing for us, getting a group together, telling them to bring 20 oz pepsi’s with the rock band caps to expand our library
115 caps later, i have so many songs and most of them arent songs i would have really gone for, but makes great get-together songs.
also, Kyle, me and my wife check this site religiously for the updates.
keep up the great work.
lol i was born in 1997 but i listen to third eye blind alot too
Totally making a great point. You’re right – and this is a good thing – eventually Rock Band will be another outlet for everyone ala iTunes. RBN is going to usher that in and that’s fantasic. I’m only salty at the idea of a band like TEB coming before more prominent (i.e., bands I like more) names surface like The Hold Steady or more TV on the Radio or even The Decemberists. I don’t like TEB at all and I will chose not to purchase it. I’m thankful it’s not on a game disk where it’s required (like Lit) to play.
First three FTW
Blinded and 10 days late FTW. Here’s hoping
Theres so many good songs of TEB, was gonna suggest they do the greatest hits but they got a new album out this month.
Not familiar with ‘Motorcycle’, but I’ll be picking up all of these just for the party value.
Just for shits ‘n’ grins, I was 35 when Semi-Charmed Life was released. I frequent RBDLC a lot, and I’ve found a lot of songs because of it. Some of you guys write pretty good reviews.
@Kyle A.- RBDLC News Editor
yh i understand about the music in periods of life thing as i’m sure i will think when i’m older
yh ok fair enough, i wasn’t trying to sau people did think that, i was just making sure people didn’t start not listening to my comments
Hehehe…had to laugh at the “older” line. I was in my late 20s when TEB released that. Damn, sites like this make me feel old some times.
Anyway, love their music. They were a big “post-university” band for me, just when my tastes were sliding back to mainstream (which happens to a lot of people after university *if* you don’t work to keep discovering new stuff. I’m thrilled about this pack. SCL and MDB = two of my all-time favourite songs.
There’s a lot more 30 somethings on here than I thought. I’m 36 and you count me among the group that feels we need more “classics” in RB. Either from the late 80’s/90’s (Alice in Chains, Beck, Incubus, Korn, Live, Radiohead, Sound Garden, Toad the Wet Sprocket, U2) or before (Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Eagles, Def Leppard)
Oh yeah, and TEB should be cool. I was never a big fan but wouldn’t change the station if they came on the radio.
@RD1138
I’m with you on that, especially on adding more TVotR and Decemberists (and I hate Lit as well).
@Dan S.
Must be a generation thing, I would love to get some/more songs from all those bands (poss. exception Def Leppard). I also feel the exact same way about TEB, and those are the kind of bands that I tend to enjoy pretty well in RB.
I’m in the thirtysomething crowd myself and if you look at most of the songs that are on Rock Band so are the people from Harmonix.
i was two, and now this is one of my favorite bands
jumper and semi charmed are brilliant
Jumper AND Semi Charmed Life in the same pack? I’m sold. Two classics, and amazing songs at that.
@eldiablo8713
wow, i was two also, and i have grown to like them too
of couse i like other bands but just saying…
but all i can say is Der Reise. WOOOOOOT
Ya, I was 28 and married in 97. Good to see Third Eye Blind on DLC though.
I AM A HUGE THIRD EYE BLIND FAN!!!!! i said when rb 1 came out that if they put third eye blind or sugar ray on rock band i would buy every song. so i will buy every third eye blind song. i know every one so it wouldn’t be a waste of money although semi charmed life is my fav
crap guitar hero 5 may have the best setlist ever
Bullet with Butterfly wings

Ring of Fire
Runnin down a dream
